One of Us, 2026 Division 1 league winners

Hello everyone! Last night we wrapped up the 2026 season with our end-of-season awards night. Thanks to everyone who came along. Here's who went home with what.

Sinner πŸ†

Sinner

The β€˜Sinner’ award was accepted by Craig on behalf of Kit, who couldn't make it on account of too many bookings.

Surprisingly one of the nicest players in the league, and its social media manager, Kit loves a word with the referee. This season that landed him in the disciplinary book, and made him our 2026 Sinner!

One Club Man πŸ†

One club man

The β€˜One Club Man’ award, or more likely the bad smell award.

He left the company four years ago, but he's managed to hang on to his place and is still repping One Of Us to this day: the one and only Tom Cowlishaw!

Golden Sieve πŸ†

Golden sieve

The worst defence in the league belongs to the Sinners. But their attendance last night was as leaky as their defence, so runners-up ILM accepted the award!

Congrats, : joint second-worst defence!

Journeyman πŸ†

Journeyman

The VFL has only been around for three seasons, but somehow these lads have played for a new team in every one of them!

Hamish and Matty both started their footballing careers at Jellyfish’s Stingers. Jellyfish is a company that went bust and rose from the ashes as JFX, all before Man City's 115 charges have been dealt with.

From there, Hamish moved to champions and won the league in his second season, while Matty joined title contenders ETC.

For his third move in three years, Hamish joined title hopefuls DNEG, who believed they'd found the missing piece of the puzzle to take them over the line. Lightning didn't strike twice.

Instead, it was Matty who joined the champions this time, linking up with . The only question left: where will these two be playing their football in 2027?

Fair Play πŸ†

Fair play

ILM took this one home. Fair play to them for being so committed to letting someone else have a go at winning the league: they almost finished below a team that stopped playing with three weeks to go.

Playmaker πŸ†

Playmaker

This season's Playmaker award goes to Jacob Leslie, whose five assists set him apart from the rest.

Best Defence πŸ†

Best defence

The β€˜bridesmaids’ of the season, who fought tooth and nail right down to the final day: Black Kite had the best defence in the league, conceding just 8 goals all season!

Golden Boot πŸ†

Golden boot

The Golden Boot, and it wasn't even close!

With a fantastic 13 goals, Escape's Leo Wing soared to the top of the scoring charts.

Player of the Season (POTS) πŸ†

POTS

The 2026 POTS had to go to Leo Wing of !

Not only was he the league's top scorer, he also finished runner-up in the assists table, behind his teammate Jacob.

The third-year student graduates from Escape this summer, and if his off-the-field skills are anywhere near his on-the-field ones, studios will be fighting over his signature.

VFL 2026 Winners

And last but certainly not least, our 2026 league winners: One Of Us!

After relegation from Division 1 last season, The Owls reinvented themselves, with brand-new kits and the kind of understanding that only comes from playing together for three seasons.

The title was anything but simple. It came down to the final day, when pipped Black Kite on Goals For.

Congratulations, One Of Us, on a fantastic 2026. We can't wait to see The Owls defend their title in 2027!
